Data catalogs and Honeydew exchange context in two directions. Honeydew publishes its semantic definitions and business metadata into a catalog, so governance and business users find trusted metrics next to the rest of the catalog. In the other direction, the AI can read governed knowledge from a catalog as External Knowledge, so that knowledge stays owned in the catalog instead of being restated in Honeydew.
The Atlan, Collibra, and DataHub integrations are in Beta. To enable one for your organization, please contact support@honeydew.ai.

Supported Tools

How Integration Works

  • Publishing to a catalog: Atlan and Collibra connect under Settings → Semantic integrations. Each workspace branch is published as one model, with its entities, attributes, metrics, and business metadata, and lineage to warehouse columns where configured. See each tool’s page for setup and the asset types it creates.
  • Tableau Catalog: field descriptions sync through a Tableau connection, as part of each data source publish.
  • Reading from a catalog: Atlan and DataHub connect over MCP as External Knowledge sources. The AI fetches their definitions or context pages at query time.

Security

Publishing to a catalog sends metadata only. External Knowledge connections fetch catalog content — Atlan definitions and glossary terms, DataHub context pages — for the AI at query time. Neither reads data stored in your cloud data warehouse. See security for more details.
